La méthode

How it came together

Julien is set in his ways, and his photos are all exactly the same size. So the method was to keep everything he loved, take away everything that got in his way, and let the cakes do the talking.

  1. Étape une

    Keep every crumb

One live database out of two, 1,783 photos, 323 priced cakes and 397 gallery cakes carried over. Orders and customer details left behind, on purpose.

  2. Étape deux

    Let the photos breathe

A block theme in cocoa, cream and caramel, rounded corners, soft shadows, and a calm photo viewer instead of a bare image.

  3. Étape trois

A price list, not a shop

WooCommerce stays as a catalogue. Cart and checkout are off, every buy button becomes Ask about this cake, and couples filter by type and price.

  4. Étape quatre

    Make it his

Julien is used to page builders, not blocks. Gallery cakes and prices became simple forms, and the dashboard says Bonjour.

Le coup de cœur

The shortlist, shared

Around 700 cakes is a lot to choose from on a sofa. So every photo got a heart. The list lives on the couple’s phone, shares as a link that shows the same cakes to anyone, and lands with Julien in one tap, photos and prices included.

  • Saved on the phone

No account and no cookie banner. A small caramel count on the header heart keeps score.

  • One link, same cakes

A partner, a mum or a planner opens the link and sees the same shortlist, with a collage card in WhatsApp.

  • Straight to Julien

One tap fills in the enquiry form, and his email arrives with every cake’s photo, price and link.

Sur le pouce

On the go, on a phone
